Currency & Unit Converter+ Privacy Policy

Magsmi, represented by Magne Saetran, operates Currency & Unit Converter+ and is the data controller for the app information described in this policy. Magsmi is an independent software publisher based in the Republic of Korea. Business registration number: 482-28-02053.

This policy covers the Currency & Unit Converter+ mobile app, its widgets, purchase support, and the app-specific support and legal pages on magsmi.com. Privacy requests may be sent to support@magsmi.com or by post to 2F, 214-S128, 46 Apgujeong-ro 2-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul 06034, Republic of Korea.

Most app data is stored locally on your device. This includes converter amounts, selected currencies and units, saved pairs, pinned currencies, recent pairs, tax, fee and tip modifiers, onboarding and display settings, cached exchange rates, theme choices, and widget configuration. Structured data uses local SQLite storage; preferences and widget data use device or platform-provided shared storage.

Magsmi does not operate a Currency & Unit Converter+ account database and cannot remotely read this local app data. You can remove it with available app controls, by clearing app storage, or by uninstalling the app, subject to any device backups controlled by you or your platform provider.

To provide latest and historical reference rates, the app requests data from the Frankfurter public API. Requests include the selected base and quote currency codes. The app does not send your converter amount, tax, card-fee, tip, saved-pair list, or unit-conversion inputs to Frankfurter.

As with any internet request, Frankfurter and its delivery provider, Cloudflare, may receive routine technical information such as your IP address, request time, requested currency codes, and network headers. Frankfurter states that its public API uses daily rates from multiple central-bank providers and that Cloudflare processes basic information for delivery and analytics.

Currency & Unit Converter+ uses RevenueCat to display purchase options, validate purchases, restore purchases, and determine whether Pro access is active. RevenueCat creates a pseudonymous App User ID linked to the installation. Magsmi does not ask RevenueCat to use your name, email address, advertising identifier, or a Magsmi account identifier because the app has no user accounts.

RevenueCat may process the pseudonymous App User ID, product identifiers, purchase and renewal dates, subscription and entitlement status, Apple receipt data or a Google purchase token, last-seen time, device type, operating system, app version, locale, currency code, IP-derived country, and other technical information needed to provide and secure the purchase service. RevenueCat also uses purchase history for app functionality and purchase analytics. Magsmi does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details.

Apple processes App Store purchases and Google processes Google Play purchases under their own terms and privacy policies. RevenueCat states that customer data may be stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Development builds may use RevenueCat's Test Store; those simulated transactions do not charge real money and are kept separate from App Store or Google Play purchases.

If Magsmi enables the production analytics service and you turn on Share Limited Usage Analytics at the end of onboarding or later in Settings, Currency & Unit Converter+ uses PostHog Cloud EU to measure a small onboarding and purchase funnel. Analytics is off by default, is unavailable in development and preview builds, and stops when you turn the setting off.

The allowed events are onboarding completed, paywall viewed, purchase started, purchase completed, and restore completed. They may include the paywall context, selected plan type, app identifier and version, operating environment, platform, device and operating-system type, locale, SDK version, routine network metadata, and a randomly generated analytics identifier. The app does not send converter amounts, selected currency pairs, search text, saved items, unit or size inputs, routes, advertising identifiers, your name, or your email address to PostHog. Automatic event capture, screen or session recording, surveys, feature flags, lifecycle capture, and default person profiles are disabled.

PostHog processes consented events to provide product analytics and service security. The configured EU Cloud host stores analytics data in the European Union, although routine network information such as an IP address may be processed to deliver and secure the request. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings. The app then opts out, clears queued unsent events, and resets its local analytics identity. Contact Magsmi to request help with an analytics privacy request.

If you configure a widget, the app shares the selected pair or unit conversion, cached results, Pro status, and display preferences locally with the widget through platform-provided shared storage. If you choose to share a conversion, the app gives the text or image you selected to the operating system's share sheet. The receiving app or person then handles it under their own practices.

If you email support@magsmi.com, Magsmi receives your email address, message, and anything you choose to attach. Support messages are used only to answer the request, diagnose the reported problem, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Do not send passwords, full payment details, or information that is not needed for support.

Information is processed to perform the service you request, calculate and display conversions, deliver reference rates, remember your settings, provide widgets and sharing, validate and restore purchases, unlock Pro features, respond to support, prevent fraud and abuse, keep the app reliable, and comply with law. Depending on your location, the legal basis is performance of the service contract, Magsmi's legitimate interests in operating and securing the app, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where the law requires it.

Currency & Unit Converter+ has no advertising SDK, does not sell personal information, and does not use information for cross-app advertising. Optional product analytics is limited to the consent-based PostHog processing described above; session replay remains disabled.

Magsmi shares information only as needed with service providers described here: Frankfurter and Cloudflare for exchange-rate delivery, RevenueCat for purchase infrastructure, PostHog for optional consented analytics, Apple or Google for store billing and platform services, and the hosting and email providers used for the Magsmi legal and support pages. These providers act under their own policies or agreements and may process information outside your country.

In particular, RevenueCat states that customer data is stored in the United States, while the configured PostHog Cloud EU service stores analytics data in the European Union. Apple, Google, Cloudflare, and other network or hosting providers may also process information in multiple countries. Where required, Magsmi relies on contractual or other legally recognized safeguards for international transfers. Local privacy protections may differ from those in your home country.

Local app information remains until you remove it, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Magsmi keeps support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support records, protect legal rights, and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized where practical.

Purchase and entitlement records are retained by RevenueCat and the applicable app store for the periods required to provide purchase access, prevent fraud, keep accounting records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. PostHog retains consented analytics according to Magsmi's configured retention period and valid deletion requests; Frankfurter, Cloudflare, and other providers retain technical records under their own policies. A valid deletion request will be honored unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or transaction-record obligations. Deleting a RevenueCat customer record may affect purchase history and Magsmi's ability to restore Pro access; store transaction records may remain with Apple or Google.

When the purpose is complete and no legal retention duty applies, electronic records controlled by Magsmi are deleted using methods intended to make recovery difficult. You can destroy information stored on your device by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask whether Magsmi processes information about you and to request access, correction, deletion or erasure, restriction, portability, or suspension of processing, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local privacy authority. These rights can be limited by applicable law.

Send a request to support@magsmi.com and identify Currency & Unit Converter+. Because the app has no accounts and uses pseudonymous purchase identifiers, Magsmi may need a store transaction identifier or other limited information to locate the correct RevenueCat record and verify the request. Magsmi will not ask for your password or full payment-card details. You can stop future exchange-rate requests by using the unit converter offline or discontinuing use of currency features; cached rates may remain available locally.

In Korea, privacy incident advice is available from the Privacy Infringement Report Center at 118, and dispute mediation is available from the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee at 1833-6972.

Magsmi limits the information the app sends, uses platform storage for local data, and uses encrypted HTTPS connections for rate and purchase services. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Currency & Unit Converter+ is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children who cannot consent to data processing under the law where they live. Magsmi does not knowingly collect a child's directly identifying information through the app. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information through support may contact Magsmi to request review and deletion.

Magsmi may update this policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted here with a new effective date, and material changes will receive additional notice where required. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@magsmi.com.
